Yohanis Anglero-Diaz, MD
Biography
Dr. Yohanis L. Angleró-Díaz obtained her bachelor in sciences in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. During her undergraduate studies, she spent a semester abroad in Salamanca, Spain. She then went on to obtain her medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. In 2013 Yohanis left Puerto Rico to complete her residency in General Psychiatry at Boston University Medical Center. It was during residency that she became committed to working to improve access to psychiatric care among minorities and underserved communities. She volunteered at Rosie’s Place, a shelter for homeless women in Boston and participated in a research project looking at boarding of psychiatric patients in the emergency department. She received the Citizenship award upon graduating from adult residency and went on to complete child and adolescent psychiatry training at Brown University’s program. Her interests during fellowship included working in consult liaison in both the inpatient and outpatient setting and working with Hispanic families. Following fellowship, Yohanis became an attending on the inpatient medical and psychiatric unit at Boston Children’s Hospital.
