Lorena Reyna, MD
Biography
Dr. Lorena Elizabeth Reyna received her BS in Biology from the University of Texas Pan American in May 2010 and completed her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in May of 2014. While in medical school, Dr. Reyna was chosen as the outstanding medical student in Psychiatry of her graduating class and received the Hilde Bruch Award for Excellence in Psychiatry. She then went on to complete her Adult Psychiatry Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX. In residency, Dr. Reyna was involved in the Clinician Educator Track with a focus in medical student education. In addition, Dr. Reyna served as a Diversity Leadership Fellow from 2016-2018 through the American Psychiatric Association, and was a member of the APA’s Council for Children, Adolescents and their Families. During her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Brown, Dr. Reyna continued to expand her educational interests through involvement in the Harvard Macy Future Clinician Educators Program. She also served as Chief Fellow for the 2018-2019 academic year. Her clinical interests include Hispanic mental health, community mental health, and early psychosis. Following fellowship, she returned home to work at Tropical Texas Behavioral Health, a community mental health agency in South Texas.
