Kelly Ochoa, MD
Biography
Dr. Kelly Ochoa completed her psychiatry residency training at the University of Texas Austin Dell Medical School Psychiatry Program. She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. She completed her undergraduate studies in Biology and Spanish at Texas Tech University where she was a Howard Hughes Medical Institute student research scholar. In medical school, Dr. Ochoa was a recipient of the John P. McGovern Student Award in Oslerian Medicine and was elected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society for her dedication to compassionate, patient-centered medical care. In residency, she completed an interdisciplinary quality improvement research project aimed at improving general pediatricians' comfort level in addressing mental health needs in children and adolescents. In addition, she was an active member in the philosophy of psychiatry journal club and participated in the mentor program for incoming interns. Following fellowship, Dr. Ochoa joined an outpatient private practice in Rhode Island.
