Jill Welte, MD, MSW
Biography
Dr. Jill Welte completed her psychiatry residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, in June 2015. She received her medical degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. She completed her undergraduate studies in social work at Saint Louis University in 1996 and her master's in social work at New York University in 1998. During medical school, Jill served for two years as a regional chair and one year as the national chair for the APA's Psychiatry Student Interest Group Network (PsychSIGN). She received the James Weiss Award from the University of Missouri Department of Psychiatry at graduation, and was the recipient of an AACAP Life Members Mentorship grant for medical students. While in residency, Jill served as the resident liaison to the Vanderbilt School of Medicine Psychiatry Student Interest Group and was the recipient of the AACAP Educational Outreach Program award during her second year. During fellowship she served on the AACAP Committee on Medical Students and Residents. Following fellowship, Dr. Welte joined Coastal Medical of Rhode Island where she developed an integrated care team for four community pediatric practices.
