
Kit Quain, MD
Biography
Dr. Kit Quain completed General Psychiatry Residency at Brown University, and they obtained their medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. While in medical school, they were inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Quain's research in medical school and residency focused on pediatric transgender health, and they are passionate about providing affirming psychiatric care to LGBTQ youth. During residency, Dr. Quain was involved with the residency's Curriculum Committee, Graduate Medical Education Committee, and Social Committee. They also participated in the Resident as Teacher program, giving a lecture to all Brown University third year medical students about the psychiatric interview and mental status exam at the start of the psychiatry clerkship. Dr. Quain joined the R25 research program during fellowship at Brown, and they are working with Dr. Jennifer Wolff to examine factors associated with suicidal ideation and prior suicide attempts among patients admitted to the Adolescent Inpatient Unit at Bradley Hospital.
